Conky Tonker Fun!
As the sun starts to get low in the sky Captain Frank pulls out the conk shells. He tells you and your group that it’s a Hawaiian tradition to blow the Pu (conk) only up to the moment that the sun dips below the earth, but never after the final kiss of sunset. The blowing of the Pu is our way of saying Mahalo (thanks).
All you have to do is master it. So, one at a time everyone can learn to blow the conk. Some make wonderful music, some make little noises, but everyone makes everyone laugh and smile. You’ve made it into a very exclusive club, Pomaika’i Conky Tonkers. You’ll take your friends to the website, obxsail.com, later to see the photos and instantly your memories will return. This is truly a Pomaika’i experience.
